Jemfest Jibbob video now available!!!!
Oh Jeez! Boy is my face red…
I suppose I have to respond. You all have to remember that I know what I was supposed to play. The performance does have the distinction of being the first time I have performed in public for over 8 years and the first time performing with a band since 1983. I suppose that’s why my hands turned into cement when I got on stage.
I must thank Eric and band for loaning me the awesome drumming and bass. Their skill rescued the moment. Thanks go to Gabe, Kevan and Bill for coercing me into doing it. What a performance icebreaker for me… and Gabe, thanks for posting the part that I screwed up the least on.
Ricky, You are too nice. Especially in light of the fact that your performance almost moved me to tears.
Let me paint a fun little picture for those who weren’t present… I was a nervous wreck, trying to remember how I played it and franticly clutching at the pick, which I could not feel in my numb fingers. I look up and see Rich and crew in the front row, holding up cards with the number 10 written on them. What a good bunch of screwy guys.
That was the atmosphere at Jemfest. Nobody was uptight, even when there were technical problems. It was an awesome experience.
Afterwards, the 4:AM meal at Denny’s coupled with my nervous stomach made for an interesting experience in the bathroom, but I won’t get into that.
