KoRn's new album - take a look in the mirror

this might get some peoples feathers ruffled but whats your guys's opinion? i personaly loved untouchables but i think this is more of an album that most other korn fans were waiting for.

Mmmm....

I know this cd isn't selling very well at my store.

We sold 4 copies this week.

Britney Spears new one has sold 22 for me.

Korn is another of these newer bands I just can't get into.

I was in 9th or 10th grade when Korn- Self titled came out.... All my friends at least thought it was ok.... I hated it.

The other day, I was talking to someone, and they told me "Life is Peachy" is their favorite album in the world....so I popped it in.

I felt like I should be sacrificing a goat while listening......Satan driven howling while the "singer" was talking the word "twist" over what sounded to be badly played 7 string guitar riffs.

Not my band brother.... I wouldn't know a good Korn album from a bad one.... as they all sound bad to me.

I will say this, they're certainly better than their imitators. Never bought any of their albums but I don't turn them off if they're on the telly. Going to see them with Fear Factory in a couple of months.

Every sunday at full moon i put on "Life's Peachy" and sacrifice a goat...

No, I don't mind Korn, I didn't care for their last few albums, I found them too repetitive, but i think their debut album was brilliant.

Yep, their first album is a milestone in 90's rock music IMO

I love the fact that they finally recorded "Alive" properly, the demo's been floating around the net for years and years. And they even worked in some full-out growl in there.

And people say this album isn't anything new for them? I disagree. They're a lot more aggressive than they've ever been. The first two albums weren't aggressive as much as they were emotionally explosive. There wasn't as much anger as there was emotional release.

And if anyone thinks this album sounds like their older stuff, listen to songs like "No Place To Hide" or "Clown" or "Divine" or even "Reclaim My Place". They used to have a side to their music that was almost like a creepy kind of music box/carnival type sound. Almost happy, but unsettling.

That being said, I like everything I've heard of the new album so far, and I'm a big fan of Issues and Untouchables too. I don't like the fact that the new album's not being released until Dec. 2nd here in Canada though. What the heck is wrong with record labels/distributors these days?

yes, im glad alive got recorded too, i didnt know until it came on, i was like, wait a second, i know this song...., im also glad to see jonathan davis using his voice agressivly again, leaving poser "nu metal" screamers with their tails between their legs. i just eared my way through playing about 5 songs today. its pretty easy to figure out but its still fun to get ur groove on to. lol

I love the chorus riff of "Did My Time", lot's of fun, and I can nail most of the tones with my Flextone. The effect before the chorus is, for me, my distorted sound on the 1x8 cabinet setting.

i haven't listened to Korn for awhile, but didn't they take a part(s) of "Alive" and write "Need To" around that? Sounds like they are running out of material......

Not sure where you get your information, but I'm not sure this is true.

But they have been known to have similar sounding songs before. For example there's one on Issues that sounds a lot like a song on Follow The Leader (can't remember names), etc.
