Mini JS Rainforest / Mini JEM7VWH

Recently, I have been putting these handmade mini-guitars together. The bodies are about the size of a matchbox. What do you guys think?

Much better than the ones on the bay.

I like that you've taken the time to actually do the tree of life on the fret board.

so ppl don't have to click on the links:

Thanx!

I must admit, it took some time to get it right...

Also, I had some help from a friend, who painted the rainforest on the... well, rainforest .

Had to really be creative in finding the right materials to do the various details. Such as the tuning mechanisms, wich are cutoff nails, painted in silver/gold. The tuning knobs are custom made from a piece of wood. Strings are 'real' guitarstrings ( .008 ), the thinnest I could find . The bodies are made out of a piece of wood (the JS was a pain in the *ss to get right), and then painted.

Now as you can see, the UV has to be finished yet. I'll post some pics as it progresses.

Wow, how cool! Nice details!
Did you actually paint the Jem name on the headstock too?
By the way the VWH is missing a fine tuner. Looks like it was there and fell off.

Well, no there are limits to my 'painting in small areas' capabilities . The JEM name lettters would be about 1 mm high.

Yup, one finetuner fell off... I'm having a hard time keeping those needle-top-ends in place

Added pickguard (aluminum) + tuners. I have a question about the pickguard, maybe some of you can help me out.

I have never actually seen a UV777 up close. Can anybody tell me how the pickguard is put together? It looks like it consists of some kind of reflecting surface, covered by a sheet of transparent plastic. Am I right?

...just trying to get as close to the original as possible
