I've been fortunate enough to become the proud owner of a shed. The male retreat ! So I've been down in my shed hammering away making a workbench so I can start modding some guitars.
I understand it's not to everybody's tastes but I've been modding my old Charvette. I was inspired by an ipod full of Ratt, Alcatrazz, Dokken etc.
It was originaly a plain red (badly dinged and scratched) colour.
It's done in pencil (various hardnesses) and I just did a bit and sprayed it with a couple of coats of clear each night when I wanted to stop.
I've got to make a start on the 15 odd coats of clear soon to get it to a deep "glassy" finish. The pickups are Charvel stock with stock covers that I decided to incorperate into the graphic for that real 80's shred style.
This is a closer shot in an effort to try and show as much detail as my camera will let me. You might have noticed I've started making little skulls out of the standard dot inlays too.
I've got a Yamaha RGX with a plain white body that's a bit dinged up (this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UN5-jKgicY
) and I'd like to put a graphic on this one too but I'm having a hard time getting hold of a plastic pup cover.
I know it's very 80's but Hey? That's the genre I like best.
