yep, no noise at all.
i did a change on the switch, now i'm using 3 way, for simplicity.
about the sheilding i just made 'everything' solded to ground (to the bridge) and a ground to the wood under the single pickup.
Everything works flawless, with no noise.

I did the same question about the shielding paint to my luthier, and after making 600 or more instrumets through 18 years of hard work, he never used this kinda paint/noise protection.
All went nice and smooth so far!!!

Very nice, i like the ghost face between the two pups. Looks very nice.

The single coil high e doesn't seem aligned with the pole, which I find strange.

Sorry bro but to me it looks more like a blot than a swirl.

well, swirl is the name some have put on this...
and if somebody can shed some light on this: what is BLOT?

Got interesting responses:
A blot can refer to several different things.

In biology, a blot is a method of transferring proteins, DNA,...
In ancient Norse religion a blót was a blood sacrifice to the gods or elves.
Blot, a song on the album Redneck Wonderland (199 by Australian group Midnight Oil.

A blot is what happens when you put ink or paint on anything, and let it spread out or if you put another thing on top of it and it gets squished.

Interpretations of ink blots have been widely used for personality tests.

Re: My new SWIRL: check it out!!!

...Well I might be guilty of that at the moment, but I saw this guitar as soon as he posted it and didn't pay that much attention to it at first but when I saw that the covers were clear with out any conductive paint or foil on the cavity covers I became curious hence the question I asked...Still a nice guitar though...

Re: My new SWIRL: check it out!!!

Fully scalloped neck, Jem body and my favorite pickup config? Lovely guitar, Tuba!

BTW, I use a five-way on my RG-IDOL too, but the neck pickup is really a stacked humbucker. If I could have done it with a three-way I would have!

On the right:

Re: My new SWIRL: check it out!!!

Hey Otaku, i just love that IDOL neckplate:

Why don't you just swap the switch for a 3-way one?
You can also use a push-pull tone spot or something.
Well, i have also a mini stack Seymour Duncan STK-4, with 2 bobins and 5 wires.
Anyway using it 3 way now is more easy!
And the middle position is a TWANG blast!

Re: My new SWIRL: check it out!!!

That's my girl! Forgot I'd posted that.

When I looked into it at the time, I'm pretty sure I learned it was impossible to wire two "humbuckers" with a three-way. It's a bummer because my playing style is to switch from one pup to the other, I don't need any in-between tones.

If you know how, tell me. I am building a new two humbucker guitar that a three-way would be ideal on!

Don't mean to derail the thread - your swirl is lovely and the scalloping and config just put me over the top. It's a setup I could bond with right away. Great job.
