Need a theory book... PLEASE!

Hey all. I have been playing guitar for a while now and know a little music theory. The problem is that it is all scattered in my brain and I don't know how it all relates to each other. I am having problems picking out what scales should go over what songs/chords. I need a music theory book or just a book that tells you what scales to play over what chords at an almost beginner level. It's getting kind of embarassing going back to music lessons each weekend asking the same old questions. I just need something that shows me from point A to point B that I can *understand*. Thank you SO much in advance!

There's a series called "Fretboard Logic" that is a great entryway into the world of applied theory on guitar. That being said, I kind of forgot who the author was, but you should be able to find it on any sort of online bookstore search.

Books I and II are great introductions to the world of theory on guitar... so check it out! You'll be glad you did!

Mick Goodrick's The Advancing Guitarist is pretty good.

And for all-round guitar book also check out Jon Damian's book (can't remember the name now).
