What is the file format in the "VCD's" that dont work on your computer?
if its .AVI , you cant play it.
if its MPG, just copy that cd to your computer, and burn it again using NERO (use the vcd burning wizard).

All three of the vcds work on the computer but only one of them work on my dvd i opened the two up on the coputer and in the foldes were:

CDI-CDI_IMAG
-CDI_TXT
-CDI_VCD.APP
-CDI_VCD.CFG

EXT-LOT_X.VCD
-PSD_X.VCD
-SCANDATA

MEGAV-AVSEQO1
-AVSEQ02

SEGMENT-NOTHING

VCD-ENTRIES.VCD
-INFO.VCD
-LOT.VCD
-PSD.VCD

These are the folders and the files that are on the vcd that works on a computer but dosnt work on my dvd. it runs for 1:00:53 and the one that works on dvd runs for 45mins, is it that my dvd cant read large vcd files?

My dad has an older DVD deck that won't play CD-Rs. Are all of your VCDs commercially pressed products or are some of them CD-R?

they are all CD-R i'm pretty sure
i borrowed one from him the other day,
the actual media file(AVSEQ02) is a DAT File
(atleast it was on the one i borrowed)

PS: did you get it back dragon?
i gave it to Sam to give to you at your friday night gig

if you wanted just the audio for temporary relief
it should be easy to either burn to audio CD or go from the computer to line in on a tape deck and record to tape, i can do it for you if you want

you will need a TV OUT card - in the past year is almost imposible to get a video card without TV Out - hook up the TV OUT on your video card into Line 1 on your VHS recorder.
Select "Line 1" for recording (aerial in is the default and you don't want to record white noise) and that'll do it.
Get a stereo cable that is a headphone size jack on one end and 2 line in jacks on the other - stick the stereo jack into your PC in the AUDIO OUT port of your audio card and the 2 line jacks into the Line 1 on your VCR.

I'm terrible at explaining stuff but it's real easy to do. Honest.
Or just get all the .DAT files from MPEGAV folder on said VCD's - put them somewhere on your hard disk.
Now open NERO and select - "Make Video CD" option.
Drag the .DAT file in there and hit "Next".
Nero will make a VCD that will play in a new DVD player.
