Posts: 2,990 glaring omissions at all!

Criteria? Obviously NOT the opinions of other musicians. Joan Jett? And Jack White? Ugh...that issue should come with its own air sickness bag. Come on! LOL

That list is so stupid, it defies desciption.

When someone like Jack White is 17, who is a no hit wonder, fly by night.....poster boy for VH1's "Where are they now" in 2 years...

and legends like Eddie Van Halen, and Angus Young are 70 and 96, you have to wonder...... did they poll the guys at the Blue Oyster *** bar , or the 13 yr old girls at the Avril Lavine concert???

Of course Vai , Satriani nor Yngwie have the talent to be on the list....

But Joan Jett and Joni Mitchell, both who have revolutionized the way us guitar players approach the instrument.

Excuse me, while I offer this issue of Rolling Stone to my neighbor.... he's out front, and need something to clean up his dog's s hit with.

I'd really like to know who came up with that list and what the criteria were for the selections. The omissions of such people as Satriani, Vai, Eric Johnson, Malmsteen, Petrucci, Jerry Cantrell, Zack Wylde, Al Di Meola, Neil Schon, albert King, and Ted Nugent, Not to mention countless others, is nothing less than a farce. Its a clear indication of how the quality of journalism in rolling stone has deteriorated especially over the last 10 years. They should stick to covering boy bands. Obviously they know nothing about real music. I'd be insulted if I were EVH and put in the #70 spot. He probably did more to influence guitar music than anyone else on that list including Hendrix. And who did Kirk "I didnt put leads on the new album because my wah pedal broke" Hammet do sexual favors for to get the #11 spot? The whole thing is funny.

I think the criterium used is: 'let's put togheter a list of the players we think our readers would like best, so we sell more magazines'.

I would like to see a 100 list from say, Young Guitar

Everytime I pick up my guitar , I know I think ...."What would Lou Reed do over this progression?"

Or.... "Man, I wish I could play like Leigh Stevens".

Kirk "I play every song in G" Hammett 11th ?????

If he's 11 , then I should have been 8th.

I know.... I think the Olsen babes are the ones who made the list, thats why they are on the cover.

I got it covered guys, they each get double spankings in bed tonight.

I hate these things. They make my mind 100% mad all the time, so I rule them out as irrelevant.

I don't know who half of these players are... ignore my ignorance please... funny how they have them listed like this:

"Brian May of Queen" Like we don't know who the hell he is. Who is Mick Ronson? (#64) C'mon. Sammy Hagar plays guitar too, why isn't he on the list?
