I'll preface this by saying I have no reason to believe it's a covers album, but man I hope this isn't a covers album!

Sammy has tons of albums of his own, I can't see why any of these guys would want to do a covers show. You gotta go for the gold man, and that's originals

I'm interviewing Satch next week, I'll ask him.

Just talked to Joe, they haven't recorded an album yet, they're sending ideas back and forth while on their respective tours, but after Joe's finished touring with his current album, Chickenfoot will record an album of originals, and will tour after that. They're really approaching it as a serious, proper band.

I'm stoked out of my mind about this.

So great to hear, I love it!

Sat is better than EVH
Hager is better than DLR
Anthony is better than WVH
Smith, don't know who he is, but Alex is great.

Anyway, so siked to hear it. But, Chickenfoot is a HORRIBLE name! How about SASH, it's better than Chickenfoot. So many more possiblities.

Part of me wants to hear it, part of me would much rather see Joe concentrate on his solo stuff.

Re: Satriani / Hagar / Anthony / Smith = SUPERGROUP

Funny, I'm listening to OU812 and found this thread coincidentally.
I'm a big fan of this idea! IMO, VH isn't VH without Mike. I always liked Sammy too. And Satch in a propper band? Sounds cool! It would actually be very interesting to hear Satch sit back and be part of a group rather than the most prominent part of the music.
That said; this has been kicking around since 2003?!? IMO, there is such a thing as "overcooking" something.
Where's that GNR "Chinese Democracy" record, btw!
