Man, what a bummer.

He was the only guitarist I ever really studied.

That is a loss.

Shawn was an amazing talent, and seemed like a sweet natured guy.

I was just showing a few of my guitar students his REH videos last week.

I wasn't expecting to read this a week later.

It appears that Shawn had some sort of lung problem, and had been hospitalized for the last several weeks.

Shawn's dad had passed away at 61 not even a year ago.

Please keep the Lane family in your thoughts.

Yesterday, I was watching a shawn lane video, and I was totally and completely mesmorized...almost an out of body experience. He was playing the most beautful notes I've ever heard. Almost brought me to tears. Nothing fast, just sheer beauty. Poetry in motion if you will.

I am saddened deeply by this. His music, not just his guitar playing, found a special spot in my heart so quickly.

I hope he's at a better place, and I hope his family is well in this trying time.

RIP Shawn.

YOU WILL ALWAYS RULE.

This man should be buried with his guitar. Wherever his spirit takes him, he'll need it.

This is far beyond words. Shawn - if there's internet connectivity in heaven - we will miss you. Thank you so much for what you have left behind.

Man, that sucks so hard, I don't have the words to describe it. Unbelievably good player passes away when he's just 40. Why not politicians?
