Space Dye Vest chords?

Can anyone tell me what the left hand chords played on the paino are at the beginning of Space Dye Vest by Dream Theater?

Last time I checked, they were... (keep in mind its in the key of one flat = D minor)

A maj (root) --> D min (2nd inversion) --> Db diminished --> D min --> E diminished --> D min --> Db diminished --> D min (2nd inversion)

This is a sort of simplified version, but it works. Unless noted, I use the root position triads of these chords.

I hope this helps!

Well, I don't play piano, but I get most of what you're saying except for the 2nd inversion stuff. What do you mean by this exactly? (could you just give me the notes of the D min (2nd inversion) triads?)

Oh yeah, sometimes I take the terminology of chordal theory for granted sometimes...

When you invert a triad, this is what happens...

for example, C major is C-E-G, right? That is what's known as "root position"

First inversion happens when you invert the chord. First inversion is E-G-C. Second is becomes G-C-E.

Dmin:

Root position: D-F-A
1st inversion: F-A-D
2nd inversion: A-D-F

I hope this helps,
