I found these songs from SBM on YouTube. Very cool to see them being performed live. The arrangement of Mountain song is really cool. Be sure to check them out, if you haven't already.
Awesome! thanks for posting these video's Alwin. I'm seeing Joe's show in juni in Amsterdam. I can't wait for that
The last show in the Heineken Music Hall was great.
Yeah, they're great, aren't they? It would be cool if they released this footage on DVD.
I've thought about seeing Joe play live, too. He's also coming to Tilburg. But, I've changed my mind, because I find I can never enjoy the music because of the volume, which is just too high. If I do decide to go, I'll definately wear earplugs.
I love SBM. It's a great album. My favorites, I guess would be 'Oriental melody', 'Chords of life', 'Mind storm' and 'What breaks a heart'. Wonderful stuff.
That double neck looks sweet.........apart from the top headstock being black!!!!!!!! Looks out of place, kinda like he broke that neck and just fitted an odd one to play it  !
Glad you enjoyed the videos, Andy! My favorite song of the ones I posted is 'Oriental melody'. It's so cool when Joe uses drop-D tuning. It sounds very heavy.
And I love that double neck JS.
Personally, I feel the black headstock really looks wonderful. I like the sunburst finish of the body, as well. But I can imagine that this thing is heavy, though!
He seems to use the bridge pickup throughout the entire song. I could be wrong, though. It's hard to see the pickup selector switch, due to the somewhat lower image quality of the video. But I did see the bridge pickup engaged in one shot. And I don't think that I saw him flip the selector switch at any point in the song.
I love it, too. Whenever I listen to it, I always get these vivid images of Joe snowboarding in the mountains with the sun glistening in the snow... It's a fantastic track.
yeah, these are songs that don't get played live much anymore, which is a shame because they are really really good, especially live.
