Re: Sweeping Techmnique

There are a few different ways you can mute. The trick is to get the picked note muted as quickly as possible. There are 3 ways that i know you can mute those notes. Most players combine the muting from their palm of their bridge hand and their fretted hand fingers. Also, you can try muting with the thumb of your picking hand. You'll have to change the angle as to way you pick to use your thumb to mute. As the notes are picked, graze your thumb along the strings.

Re: Sweeping Techmnique

Downstroke I use the part near the bottom of my palm to mute the strings.
Upstrokes I use my fingers trailing behind the played note to mute. I don't "choose" a position on my finger I just allow them to rest on the strings they've just played to mute them.

I am fairly new to string sweeping myself, only just got basic 5 stringers down. So yeah this works for me, but see what also works for you.
