Tackling Country/Bluegrass Playing

So after playing Rock/Metal for a few years now, i've decided it's about time to dig my tele out and start seriously learning to play country.

Mostly i'm hoping to get good at Hybrid picking, can anyone lead me the right direction in how to tackle this technique.

Unfortunately my knowledge in this area is slim pickings, can anyone recommend me some essential listening?

Cheers, Dave

Re: Tackling Country/Bluegrass Playing

Pick up Brad Paisley's "Play" CD, then listen to anything with James Burton, Albert Lee, or Brent Mason.

That'll get you started. Welcome to Hell. :-)

Re: Tackling Country/Bluegrass Playing

I'm doing a presentation in 3 months on guitar techniques for part of my course, thus why i thought it would be a good idea to make it worth it and actually get of my ass, rather than rehashing an old boring metal track.

Do you know where i could find a good tab/notation for Huckleberry Jam?
