two handed tapping - the final frontier!

i'm sure all of you veteran guitarists have played around with this before, but i have just discovered this cool lick.
You actually use two hands two create a harmonising melody.

Right hand * B---13--10--12--10--13--10--12--10--- etc...
Left hand * *G---20--17--19--17--20--17--19--17--- etc...

You defintely feel a loss of dexterity in your right hand.

Does anyone have cooler variations on this technique? I would like to explore this undiscovered realm.

Have you heard of Stanley Jordan???

http://www.stanleyjordan.com/Techniq...uchofblue.html

This is an easy one to start with

If you like I can give you some two part inventions ala *JS Bach that are a good bit harder but really develop the two hand technique

it says EADGCF straight fourths tuning, but its actually been tabbed for EADGBE standard tuning.

I personally dont care for straight fourths, it makes some things easier but other things much harder

Whoa! *I never really understood what two-hand tapping was before! *I thought it was just using your right hand to act like a capo while tapping with your left hand. *This opens a whole new world for me! *...And my right hand seems very uncoordinated at this right now. *THANKS -Andy

two handed tapping

just stick at it,

When I started doing this stuff I learnt both parts well individually , and then put them togethor.

thats the best piece to start with, whats really hard is improvising over those chords while keeping the rhythm going in the left hand is real hard but well worth the effort.

ps you can use this stuff in rock, I frequently do two handed runs on the guitar,

this technique really opens up the guitar

If your looking more stuff, just let me know

Steve

Here's the one reason I like Limp Bizkit. *Wes Borland can do some really cool tapping stuff, including tapping CHORDS!!! *Here's an example, taken from the song "Re-Arranged":

(Tuning: *C#,F#,B,E,G#,C#)

Riff 1:

-3h-0--------------3h-0--------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------|
---14----14----14----14----14----14----14----14-|
--------------------------------------------------|
12----12----12----12----12----12----12----12----|

Riff 2:* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

two handed tapping

Im workin on a tapping piece that will cover all the basics of tapping, Van Halen through Stanley Jordan.

Starting with a piece by Shawn Baxter then building up to tapped arpegios accross four strings, and then two handed harmonised arpeggios and scale passages and ending in something rediculous, just havent thought of it yet!

Should take me a week or so to complete,

Is there a place where I can put this stuff up here?
the tab will be about 150K in total (jpg format)
