+100, I've met Mike Romeo maybe 8 times and he never ceases to amaze me with his freakin' ferocious playing. In the nonmetal realm I'd say Andy Timmons is #1.

No one's said anything about em because I think many people (myself included) are of the opinion that pointless blind speed shred doesnt qualify one as a guitar hero . Just kiddin', to each his own.

I'd say the newest one's are the guys in Periphery and Animals as Leaders. but you still got Gilbert, Vai, Petrucci, Guthrie, etc. still goin

take a look at Nili Brosh!!! She is touring as a supporting guitarist for Tony Macalpine. Saw him and her at the Baked Potato in L.A. She damn near keeps up with Tony!!!! Listening to her latest album "through the looking glass" right now....pure awesome!!!!
