Hey guys,
I am selling an amplifier for a friend of mine. This is an amp that I use to own when I was endorsed by Scott Dixon. They partnered with Matamp to create this amplifier. It is a prototype so it has no serial number or anything as you can see from the pictures.
There are so many features to this amp that it is not possible to list them all. Here are a few:
• Full / Half Power Switch
• Pentode / Triode Switch
• 28 Watts (nominal output – this is based on a totally clean output)
• Switchable valve configurations (1, 2 or 4 valves)
• Switchable Class A / Class A/B operation
• Voice (footswitchable)
• Overdrive (footswitchable)
• Effects loop
• Reverb (footswitchable)
This is a powerful head and 4x12 speaker cab. The cab has custom Celestion thinline speakers mounted to a composite fiberglass board to help with weight. The weight of the cab is about 45 pounds. The head is maybe 50 or so.
Both the head and cab are protected in aircraft-grade aluminum flight cases that are built into their design. VERY nice. Very safe and very light.
The tone of this amp is amazing. The options are just stunning. So many different configurations. You can make a 2x12 cab sound like a 4x12. You can play in Class A or Class A/B. You can have 1 tube, 2 tube, or 4 tubes on! There are different 1/2 power options as well. With the footswitch (not included) you can also use the amp with a lot of different beefy overdrive options. I used it just as clean with a processor or pedals plugged into the front.
Basically the amp is your typical custom 1224 MkII but with the optional Scott Dixon flight cases built in. Very rare. Back plate comes off easily to access the tubes. They never installed the screws, so no screwdriver necessary (just use Gaff tape). I always thought about "finishing" the back plate, but never cared too much about it because it didn't bother me that it wasn't screwed on. This amp has been gigged around the the Puget Sound and has never had any problems. I used the amp as my main amplifier until I got endorsed by Orange Amplifiers. I sold it to my friend and he has not used it in sometime and wants to get some other gear.
Amp is sold as is, where is, with no refunds or returns offered. The amp is in perfect working order however. Make sure you want it before you buy it. It is an investment. You won't need another amp after this one (unless you get endorsed by Orange!). Buyer pays all shipping and handling charges if you don't pick it up in person and want me to ship it. It will be professionally shipped using a local packaging/shipping company so you can be assured of it arriving in tact and operational. I have more pictures that I can send you if you want.
Price for the head and cab is $2249.00
