Crackle Paint - so cool had to start a new thred!

Here it is, all complete! Started a new thread so it didn't get lost in the old one...this is such a cool effect. And if you started playing guitar in the 80's like I did - there is a certain appreciation for these styles...inspired by the one CC used in the Fallen Angel video. Wish I was keeping it for myself! Pics don't showcase the neon colors below!

Looks great! Would a reverse crackle look any good?

That looks great! How long does it take to paint a finish like that and what does a finish like that cost?

Re: Crackle Paint - so cool had to start a new thred!

Wouldn't be able to do a reverse...the crackle paint comes in either clear (tintable) or black...so you could reverse it with a single color, but not a gradient fade like that.

It's $125/qt. and $60 for shipping since it comes from the UK. No US place distributes it...

Then it took 8 coats of clear total to get everything level.

To do a crackle your looking at $475..regardless if its a fade like this or a single color under it...

This is my guitar, I adore it, Rodzo killed the paint job, I highly recommend him and this crackle finish.... Next year I'll probably hit him up for another crackle, probably a lava effect..

I'm a sucker for 80s sh!t LOL
