Ebay seller problem.

So I win an original FP neck on ebay for £170 on 6/6/11 this week ,yippeee I thinks .
The next day the seller asks me to pay so he can send it off to me ... I instantly pay via Paypal ... no probs.

The next evening I receive a rather curt and agressive email asking me if I intend to pay and he hasn't received any money into his Paypal account and has other people interested in the neck .
I look at my PP account and it says unclaimed on the transaction ... that would indicate he has some kind of problem with his PP account , I also notice he's got zero ebay feedback .

I email him telling him I have paid and he needs to sort out whatever problem he has with his account . I get no replies to god knows how many mails I send . It seems really weird after he has prematurely jumped down my throat asking me to pay up pronto.

I'm suspecting he's had an after auction offer and probably accepted it ... I'm hoping I'm wrong but its strange that he's suddenly gone quiet

Re: Ebay seller problem.

Many didn't bid on that because of his lack of feedback.

ebay - Paypal - 0 feedback, Paypal usually holds the funds in escrow now until the package has been delivered. Part of their agressive new protection policies.

Re: Ebay seller problem.

Thats why I wasn't really worried about bidding on it Rich . The payment is still listed as unaccepted .

Re: Ebay seller problem.

The problem is these sellers that don't have a clue, as you're now experiencing.

Re: Ebay seller problem.

Notify Paypal right away of the message from him, the unclaimed funds, and your suspicions. Yes--Paypal puts a hold on inshipped items from new account holders and items over a certain amount--but it should not show as unclaimed.

I informed PP and all I got back was the usual list of reasons why it remains unclaimed .
I have sent a barrage of emails to this guy with no result ... he's new to ebay and I'm guessing he got gready

Re: Ebay seller problem.

i had the same thing happen to me about 3 to 4 weeks ago. won an item from a zero star seller. paid for item. he contacted me that payment hadn't gone through. told him to sort it out with paypal. he got back to me said it was a email problem and all was fixed, he had the funds and was going to post item next day. next day he marks item sent. when i had won the item i sent him a message that i wan't item sent by registered post and i wan't tracking number. he had agreed to that. never got another message from him. after 1 week i sent him an email where is item, no reply. after 2 weeks another email sent to him no reply so put in dispute against him, then a claim and won. will not buy from zero star seller again.
