Re: HELP! New website host needed ASAFP!

If there was any on my site it went in thru a back door they had, the whole site in on my malware free computer, and not once did I click on a page and get any warnings. I doubt there was anything there, but it was a good motivating factor to tell them what they could do with THE HOST FROM HELL!.

Re: HELP! New website host needed ASAFP!

Rich, you didn't have a dedicated server hence your site was infected by another site or banner ads used on the same server. Another reason to get a VPS or Dedicated server. That said your site shows error 503 on both broadband(Cablevision) and on mobile (ATT) ... glen

I just called them, it still hadn't been done so he pushed it thru. Now it's just the wait until it propagates.

Rich your email is bouncing back @ibanezrules.com

You should decouple your email from your domain as a safeguard of this scenario.

Re: HELP! New website host needed ASAFP!

Yea, remember I haven't switched a host is 15 years, I've forgotten everything.

emails all sorted now, I think that should be the last of it, but will not be surprised if there's something else I forgot too!

Setup Ibanez.org as a sub domain at the same time so I can finally start using that too

Whoa, you've got some work cut out for ya there :O All links are hardcoded rather than dynamic it seems (i.e when clicking links on the Ibanez.org-site they lead to ibanezrules.com)

Re: HELP! New website host needed ASAFP!

Where else would I have them point? That's the whole purpose of the domain, and hopefully some SEO boost from a .org link

Sorry, you had set up the site on that domain too, I'd assume you just have a redirect on the ibanez.org to ibanezrules.com so you don't have to maintain 2 sites.

Re: HELP! New website host needed ASAFP!

Google doesn't like redirects. It's just a master list of searchable numbers so if anybody finds and clicks on it, it's just advertising for my site that's free. It's not going to be a real site, it never was, previous owner had it for a decade and I've had it 5 years and never did anything with it.

What would I do with it anyway, make it into a forum?
