Need Advice on Forum Member

I am not sure this is the correct place to post this but here goes. I bought a guitar from a forum member and I paid for it towards the end of August. I have not received the guitar yet and this particular individual keeps stating he will send it but never does. Can anyone advise me what to do in this situation? I have bought from him before without any problems.

Tough call because of the previous completed sales, but IMO you have to treat it as if you'd never bought anything before, because the only deal that matters is this one. If you Paypal'd you should file a claim immediately.

File a claim. There's no excuse for not shipping out in a timely manner.

You have 45 days to file a claim with PayPal. If you do, they still are a pain in the butt to get to reverse the claim.

We would like to know which member has trouble shipping a guitar in a 4 month+ timespan..........a little protection for all of us.

Re: Need Advice on Forum Member

It's sad how often this happens.
The anonymity of the Internet has made this kind of thing so easy.
I love shoes (I know, many of you know that ) and I'm tempted time and time again when I see a cute pair for sale online for less than I know they sell for in stores, but I'm so afraid of getting scammed I never take the chance.
I'm sure some are legit, but I'm just paranoid, you hear about rip-offs so often.
It makes me sad that people can do this to other people.
The world would be such a better place, but it's people like that that make it so that so many people end up being misanthropic... and at this rate, more people will hate people than those that like people, and that, I think, is when the Apocalypse will truly start.
If we're not there already.

Don't be afraid to buy online. I've bought over $80,000 worth of stuff without issue except maybe 3-4 mild problems that were sorted out with both parties being happy.

That's good to hear Stealth, I'm not afraid to buy online...Macy's, Wal-Mart, Newegg, Musician's Friend, etc.
It's private sellers that give me pause, especially when they are selling something that I know is several hundred dollars in stores, for a significant 'discount'.
Heck, if someone is selling a $10 item for $1, I want to know how they can afford that as well.

They can't "afford" it really. It's just market value. Kinda like how if you sell your used car you immediately lose a ton of cash.

I actually mean when you see someone with lots of stuff at way under market value, used or new.
My Spider Sense starts tingling when I see stuff like that.
