Is that real??? I've never seen one of those, and Vai doesn't even have one on his website in the gear pics. You'd think that he would if it were real.

Take notice of the paint coming off the pickups, tuners and bridge. The shoddy hack job on the headstock at the angles.

I know that the dealer is reputable, but something about that guitar just screams fake.

easy tiger. Thats definitely a real "jem", not in the ibanez sense.

Despagni Jem's are the predecessor to the ibanez ones you know today.

Re: OLD school jem for sale. A REAL jem :D

I knew he had Jem's before the Ibanez ones. It's just that that one just looks, well, like it was constructed in a hurry.

I'm sure it's real, I just don't think it's worth anywhere near what he's asking for it. I mean, regardless if Vai ever used this one or not, it just looks cheap, it just doesn't look like a pro job. The neck plate looks like it was a rectangle one that was cut to fit, the pickups, bridge and tuners are painted and there are numerous other things.

Ahh, the Joe Despagni Jem's. Well, can't validate it's authenticity, but they were always out-of-sight. This one is certainly pretty wild for sure!

Don't remember any of the Despagni Jem's having a swirl finish though.

I love it when sellers say "I might keep this one" in an effort to make you hurry up and buy it before they change their mind. LMAO!

Peace
