2204 clone

Hi guys, I've been working hard on my 2204 clone. I've already got quite abit assembled. At first I thought of a small box head cabinet and a 2x12 with Celestion Vintage 30's but now that the time comes to make the final chices I'm considering sticking the amp in a Bluesbreaker 2x12 combo housing and possibly using a Celestion Greenback and a Vintage 30.

Any opinions with regards to this are very welcome, I hope that I'm building the ultimate tone screaming machine..lol.

Regards,
Nelson

Re: 2204 clone

I will be posting them ASAP, it still needs to grow a little more, I have the extra cash now for a cab or speakers and I'd like to get either a combo or a head I can't decide... I still want opinions with regards to my uncertanties.

Regards,
Nelson

Re: 2204 clone

Personally i would go with the head and cabinet configuration....simply for the versitility of being able to sit the head ontop of other things to use it. I use my heads with a few different cabinets (4x12s with g-75s or v-30s versus a 1x12 or a 2x12 with greenbacks). it is a little bit more of a hassle to carry around more gear with the head and cab seperate...but then again the combo is going to be heavy anyways.

I look forward to seeing pictures, ive been thinking about building a 50 watt plexi clone for the past month or so and i find the subject very interesting (i am a bit of an old-skool marshall guy, ive got two old 2203 heads myself...one vertical input with 6550s and one hoz. input with el34s)
