Now that I have a Universe I will need to change the strings on it at times so I was wondering what strings oyu guys use for your seven strings?

Right now I'm using D'addario 10-54 (or 56 can't remember, it's the "regular" set) because it's the only packaged sets they have here (too lazy to order online, and the individual strings at my local store suck, and are expensive). I've tried 10-52 with a 58 for the low-B, but couldn't get my Schecter to intonate right. I'd like to go to 10-46 (or 52) with a 58 for the low-B, or maybe 10-60 overall (light top-heavy bottom).

i use ernie ball power slinky 11-58. the heaviest guitar center had, id like to try a 10-60 set, a bit easier on the bends and a little more clarity in the chunk.

Custom gauge DR strings. From low to high, 56, 46, 36, 24, 17, 12, and 9. Sure they're about $10 a set + shipping but the 7 strings sets stores sell 'em for do not last long nor feel as great. With this setup, I wanted to have a little tightness on the low B yet bendable on the high plain strings.
So far, it's been more than 3 months since i had changed the strings and they still feel and sound brand new.

I'm using GHS Boomers .010 to .060, and they're not bad, but still not quite crisp enough for me on the low end of a 25.5" scale guitar.

I'm considering going up to a standard .011 6-string set with a double-wound .070 on the bottom, just to get a bit more crispness in the notes.

Currently I've got a 9-42 Elixer set with an Elixer .56 for the B. Since the thicker bass strings are the ones that show the degradation of the high end the msot as the strings age, they really make a difference.

I tried a 10-52 set with a .68 Elixer for a while, and it was pretty cool (really tight low end) but in the end I went back to the 9's and went to lighter picks so the bass strings wouldn't detune on impact as much- I was fighting to bend the wound strings, and it just wasn't worth the hassle.
