Actuall value of a Marshall JCM800 2203 1983

Hey folks!

I've been offered a trade between my JS1000 white guitar (Paf Pro swapped for PAF JOE) and a Marshall JCM800 2203 100watt head. The amp was produced in 1983 and the seller claims it's vintage and that they sell for 2500 dollars on ebay which is around 1700 euros around here. So whats the case?? Is he for real? At first I told him that there should be some +money on his side thinkig he owned a Reissue model.

Do you think it's worth it?

thank in advance!

Let me be the first person to say "it's worth what you want to pay for it". That seems high to me, but maybe see what they have been selling for on ebay

True...it seems high to me as well. It's in mint condition especially on the inside and got a retube recently. I mean...give me 2000 bucks and I'll fill my basement with great gear. Guitars, amps, pedals...you name it. I really don't think it's worth that much. In general from what I've seen 80s JCM800 amps go for 800-1200 euros. I mean, if it's really worth that much I'd just throw it on ebay and get a bunch of stuff with the money and a new guitar.

I'd say 1500 in mint shape. However, they usually go for around 1200 or so. $2500 is Silver Jubilee territory.
