Amp choosing help!

Hi, I'v been playing guitar for about 6 years and about a year ago i bought an Ibanez RG2570. I currently have a Line 6 Spider 2 which iv had since i started playing and now i think it's time for a new amp.

I use a lot of effect pedals, so built-in effects are not needed. I'm looking for an amp that has great rock/metal sounds but also nice clean tones aswell. My price range is about £400 - £600.

Thanks

Re: Amp choosing help!

If your looking for low volume/wattage tube amps then i think If you have a distortion/OD pedal then a Laney VC15 has nice cleans, and low gain tones and takes pedals well. I run a RG1570 into a Blackstar DistX into a VC15 and it sounds great, enough gain for djenty and metal tones from the pedal but can get lower gain aswell.

If your looking for more gain on tap then Blackstar HT series are often recomended, although I was never a fan of the HT-5.

Re: Amp choosing help!

Blackstar HT-5 head and a 1x12 cab, or HT-20 if you need cleans at gig volume.

Re: Amp choosing help!

Excellent combo, especially with a Vintage 30 speaker.
