amp line out sound quality
I have a couple heads that I have been using the line out to go to rack effects, into a power amp that feeds two cabs. Sounds good but I always wonder if the line out is the way to go. When I go direct from head to cab with speaker outs, the sound is a little more defined. When I use the loop, I get noise and hum.
Without considering hum for the moment, would you prefer using the effects loop for eqs, and then use the line out for the rest of the effects? Have you experienced any difference in tone using a line out?
I also have an weber attenuator with a line out that I could try to see if that sounds better since I would be using the speaker outs in that case. It doesn't solve the crazy noise and hum from my effects loop when I connect my rack eqs though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pete
