Amp wattage question

letīs suppose a Mesa 2:90 (90 watt per side, 2 channels).

Is it wrong if I say itīs a 180 watt amp ?

Can it work in mono? Then it's 180 watts right? I would say yes if that's the case.

I have to agree with Xing...you have 2 seperate channels at 90 a side. If you could combine the 2 channels, then you would have 180 single output (YIKES!)

I don't believe mesa offers bridgable channels as an option on any of their power amps.

I don't think it's accurate to call it a 180 watt amp, because the two channels are completely independent at all times.

Technically, it's a 2 x 90 watt stereo power amp.

It is very important to know that 2x90 watt doesn't give twice the volume in dB than 1x90!!.

I 'll pass the maths of this but the reason because the ear reacts logaritmic to soundwaves.
