Amps amps amps

Hello all I would just want to know whats a good amp for a low price. And I'm looking into some Peaveys or Marshalls. Price range wise I wouldn't go for above 500. So any opinions?

What are you looking for? Tube? Solid State? Hybrids? Channels? Sound? I'm sure that someone can give you some good suggestions once you specify what are you going for...

(And then Two Hands is going to jump in with his Line6's )

I'm all for the Marshall - AVT50 or AVT100, or a TSL - might be had for $500 or so..

AVT is a hybrid - preamp tube with solid state - I've got an AVT100 - cranks and still has the distortion "break up" Marshalls are known for..

The TSL is an all tube combo - me thinks 100w as well..

I agree. I got my marshall AVT50 about 9 months ago...and I love it to bits. Its plently loud enought for what i need, sounds great, and it only cost me £315...thats $501 USD

TSL for $500? Nope! Unless the seller has either trashed it or needs a 'quick fix' and has to sell things in a hurry.

For the $500 price range the AVT's are you best bet. I love that Marshall sound.

Yeah, i raised my eyebrow when i saw that too... You could probably get a DSL 201 for that (if you can still find them) or possibly even a 401 (although probably used) and that might be worht looking into.

MAYBE, and just maybe, you could get a mesa nomad 45 for that used...
