Another pickup thready

Hey, Folks.

I'm planning my build for my school project. The body is going to be based off of a famous Ibanez guitar but instead of the standard pickup route I want to do a single coil in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge like the old rg565s.

For the neck I want a Dimarzio Pro Track and bridge I want a PAF Pro.

I want to get a real 80's style sound but able to get a nice straty sound out of it.

Would this work?

P.S

For amps I have a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL401.
