Audioengine 2 active speakers

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone's ever come across these before. I'm looking to replace some crappy Logitech speakers that I have in my office. The logitech's have a massive midrange hole, and zero separation between the instruments.

After reading a review on stereophile and a few other reviews on the net, I'm thinking that these are the best value for money for someone that wants a 2.0 speaker setup with a small footprint.

The problem is, none of the reviewers like the same music as me. Vai, Gilbert, Dream Theater, etc....and none specifically mention guitar music.

If anyone's had any experience with these, please chime in and let me know what you thought.

Re: Audioengine 2 active speakers

Well, I took the plunge. Ordered them unheard.

The clarity and separation between instruments is amazing. I honestly can't believe these things. To put things into perspective I'm use to Sennheiser HD600's via a headphone amplifier.

The volume for the clarity is also something else.

Here are some photos I took.

Great value for money.
