The best amp for seven strings ?

I actually use a 5150 head and I know it's not the best, I've never had the occasion to hear Rivera's Bonhead or Hugues and Kettner and even not the last Marshall. I'm really curious to learn what you use for your extrem machine ...
Thanks in advance ...

i played a 7620 through a line6 flextone head and a marshall jcm 2000
both were nicer, the line 6 a bit better though

I use a Line6 Flextone II 60-watt 1x12 combo for my Schecter Revenger-7, and it sounds great.

Meshuggah's newest stuff is all through POD Pros.

I can't belive that somebody has talk about gear before !!!!

THanks a lot for the POD stuff ! I wonder what they were playin'. Schecter guitars sounds great and IT DOES EXIST IN LEFT HANDED MODEL. I know the avenger, but what is a revenger ? got pix ?
Does your speakers really hold the B ?

I still can't believe that somebody has talk about gear before !!!!

I'm only interrested by discovering new vision of the use of this instrument, and this site his great for this !!!

Someone will ever notice something really weird about me ? Take a Look !

I've been using a Mesa/boogie DC-10 head. The built in graphic eq allows you to drastically shape the tone, getting just about anything you want.

hey UV7WH-LH, do u really have a left handed UV? i'd like to see some pics.

and i do beleive line 6 is the best for 7 string distorted stuff, but for clean sounds i would go with a real tube amp.

Yes, the 1x12 has no trouble with the low-B unless I'm extremely careless with the EQ, mostly on clean stuff with the neck p-up.

The Schecter Revenger-7 is discontinued, but a very nice guitar for the price ($300 mint used). It's in here somewhere under "past models": http://www.schecterguitars.com/Dprods.htm

My Roland JC77 is the best I've heard for clean (and slightly dirty) - although it sounds quite different to other JC77's I've tried, probably because it's so beat up.

Egnater TOL100 sounds godlike with RG1077. But it sounds godlike with about everything.

I use a Mesa DC-3. And bryangraye nailed it with the 5 band EQ. Playing my stock '97 RG7620RB through this sound awesome at all levels.

Cheers, James

A nice digital EQ fixes up most amps. My 5150MarkII is simply great with extra EQ. And it's already got lots of gain ofcourse...

I use a Marshall JMP super Bass head and 2x12" but even though its an old marshall and its a 2x12" but the amount of bass comming out sounds like 2 4x12"s! I use a DOD fx86 Death metal and if u put it in a full on scooped sound it sounds HEAVY! bass-8 mid- -1 treble-6 Level-5 This setting kills anyone saying that ur music isnt heavey enough and wen u solo u dont need any mid at all to cut though

Line6 POD... Line6 GuitarPort... Peavey 5150II... Traynor YCV40...

They all sound good with my Ibanez RG7620 and ESP M-207

Hear it for yourself...

The best amp heads I've heard for a 7-String:

-Any of the Line6 heads
-Marshall Triple Super Lead
-Mesa Triple Recto
-Peavey Supreme 160 (if you like solid state)

All of these heads pick up the low end frequencies of the 7-string perfectly. Personally, I use the Mesa Triple rec through 4x12 and 1x18 cabinets and the sound is sweeter than anything I could have asked for.
