Best middle single coil in HSH P/up configuration?

Im really into S models, especially the Prestige ones. I know that I love the Steve's Special in the bridge and Air Norton in the neck, but I'm not sure about the middle single coil position.
Hum-canceling or not, whatever, doesn't matter to me because of the 5-way switch. It would be used for clean and really low gain situations, like Andy Timmon's songs "Ghost of You" or "Resolution," and he's using the Cruiser in both situations; I like that tone alot.
The HS2 and Blue Velvet I know are classic mid single coil pickups, and can deliver (from what I've heard) a pretty accurate Steve Vai "Sisters" tone, which I also love.
And the Area '61 seems like it can deliver a great SRV tone, which is something else I'm after.
So basiclly, I want a mid single coil that can do all those things, whether on its own or blended with the Air Norton or Steve's Special. A little help, please?

Blue Velvet's a great pickup. I myself, though, am partial to the Class of '55 pickup and the Area '61
