Re: best type of guitar

thats a pretty open question, its a bit like saying what is the best type of cheese, some people prefer different types for different occasions, depending on their taste. the same applys to guitar.

Re: best type of guitar

the best type is the most versatile type if it's going to be your only one. Because Ibanez offers h/s/h pickup config. and 5 way switching it's very versatile besides price range

Re: best type of guitar

I guess it all depends on what you like, what sort of music you play and how much money you have.

Re: best type of guitar

i personally love ibanez, they are easy to play and are very versital. Vaule wise, they rank very high . I belive that their price increases where a crappy thing to do. To me it is better to sell 100,000 of something at a fair price then only 25,000 at a higher markup.

The price raise wasn't that bad but it just sucks that they did it . Still they make some of the best crap at the best price vaule wise.

Re: best type of guitar

I'd go with Ibanez, but that's just my personal opinion. I'm not a big fan of Fender or Gibson/Les Paul guitars with the only exception being the dual-humbucker Fender Telecaster. That's just an all-around nice guitar.....but the price just SUCKS!

Re: best type of guitar

These are the companies I'd go with:
Ibanez
Gretsch
Fender
Jackson
Martin
PRS
Alvarez-Yairi
Laney

I'd use each guitar for a cartain occasion. Okay, let's say I wanna play some shred or Vai (Ibanez and Jackson). Country (Cretsch). Blues (Fender). Jazz/Classic Rock (PRS). Acoustic/Fingerstyle (Martin). Classical/Fingerstyle (Alvarez Yairi). Basically a certain guitar is used for a certain setting.

Re: best type of guitar

I tend to prefer Ibanez guitars, easy to play, fair range of tones...
Peavey wolfgangs are nice too.
