Breeds?

I'm building an RG and I think that i want to put in Breeds with a Blue Velvet in the middle. It's gonna be basswood with a rosewood fretboard. Do the Breeds have that "Vai-ness" that you just can't get rid of with Evos? I'm looking for a warm, thick modern PAF tone, and that seems like the best, either these or a Tone Zone/Air Norton combo, and the Breeds seem like they're more smooth, which is something I'm definitly looking for. Just need some of your suggestions and $0.02 Thanks!

Re: Breeds?

All the Breeds I've played were really versatile and not restricted to reproducing a "Vai" sound. If you want to put them through their paces, go noodle on a JEM7DBK or other Breed-equipped guitar in a music store. I was surprised at how wide their range was.

Re: Breeds?

I have a Breed bridge in my BMC and It's great. Very smooth when you want it to be (it has lots of mids!), but also has enough bite for rhythm playing.

Re: Breeds?

Nice. After checking out Harmony Central, these things are the ticket for me. Thanks!

Re: Breeds?

Breeds are great
They have a nice smooth tone, and up high they're really fat and down low they're relatively thin.
I have a HS-2 with them and im happy with that combo

Ok your post reminds me of all those losers on youtube replying to videos of stuff they don't like. If this thread bothers you, keep your mouth shut and avoid it. Everyone else, thanks for giving me good and useful feedback.

So all conversations should be regarding topics that have not been discussed before???

What if someone have some new experiences since then, or someone who have not been part of earlier conversations have something to say on the subject this time?

Also, this is a social forum, not only a place to find answers quickly. As smitty said - if you don't like a thread - just stay out of it.

Re: Breeds?

Amen brutha!
But I am dead set on Breeds now, most likely with a Blue Velvet in the mid. They just seem so perfect, like they were custom-made for me. Thanks for the feedback all.

does that excuse you from using the search function ?
I have given feedback on breeds in at least three threads, so in order to stop me repeating myself - use the search function....

did you actually try it before posting this thread?

trondulseth - when topics have been "done to death" then I think my statement stands...

FWIFW.... breeds are my favourite pickup.

still dont excuse not using search.......

It seems that you feel obligated to give feedback. If you don't want to, you don't have to.
But in order to stop this ridiculously pointless arguement from going any further, close up the thread please. I've made my decision that I want breeds, and this thread is pointless now.
Lock er up!
