Buying a Legacy Amp In The U.K..........

Why do I have to pay import tax on a Carvin Amp if ordered in the U.K? Surely if I am ordering from a U.K dealer stocks should be available to purchase from within the U.K and not have to be imported when ordered. The price in the US is acceptable but as soon as you want one in the U.K you are looking at about £400 more. Come on Carvin. Support your U.K market...........

sorry, just read the whole post
taxes and freight, thats where the costs are.
carvin or any other UK company are not creating this price, there are other costs invlolved, including whoever distributes it in the UK and has to make aprofit from it.

It still doesn't answer why stocks are mainly special order and not available to try and buy in the U.K. Surely bulk shipping to the U.K would cut down on tax etc. And why only 2 U.K dealers?

could be that the dealers simply cant afford to buy more units or that the demand isnt really there so they dont stock them.
carvin aint as much of a safe bet as stocking marshall after all

Jaden's right. If you are a distributor why pay out cash for something that may not sell quickly?

Cash is king - it's all about cash flow and working capital
