Re: Carvin V3

A full stack at $1799? Try getting a Marshall TSL 100 full stack at that price. Its such a pity that I live in Malaysia, because I can't get it factory direct.

Re: Carvin V3

Any idea when the V3 will be available? I'm assuming the info above is from a catalog, but Carvin still has no info on their site. You'd think they would at least have an info page, even if the release date is still pending.

Re: Carvin V3

Wow... looks pretty impressive on paper, with the master tone controls, dual buffered FX loops, MIDI implementation, etc. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding... how good it actually sounds. (So, who wants to buy one and write a review?)

At roughly half the price of a Recto or TSL head and a few bills less than a JSX, it feels like a heck of a deal just looking at the specs.

Re: Carvin V3

I was actually impressed to see that the cabs come with real Celestions (75's) instead of some Carvin custom speaker. So it'll be different from the Legacy cabs, but better or worse depends on your personal taste.

IMO, I like the sound of a V30 cab combined with a 75 cab, so if I was to get a V3 I'd probably get one Legacy cab and one V3 cab to go with it.

Re: Carvin V3

All carvin cabs come with celestions. This is one of the reasons why i like them so much. If i didn't play mesa, i would be playing carvin.

Re: Carvin V3

Very interesting... is it a head only, or do they have a combo version of it as well? I'm itchin' for a nice (and affordable) 3-channel tube 1x12 combo.

Sample...

Sounds a bit fizzy, but still, it is only 1 sample. We all know amps we love can sound radically different person to person.

Re: Carvin V3

Ok.. I'm cracking up a little because that sample has a tap riff just like a Winger song. Other than that, is this Carvin's attempt to compete with the HK MKIII?
