I just cut em with a scissors singe the cut end with a cigarette lighter to get rid of the frays and stitch it back together with a machine or by hand.

takes 10 -30 mins

dont do that. Do a better job, one that's reversable.

The strap is made up of three layers (in the middle bit between the two big plastic buckles).

look at the middle strap, at one end it has a X of stiching surrounded by a box. Unstitch this then use a sewing machine to sew it back in a few inches closer to the strap end (NOT the side that has the Dimarzio logo in black on it.

meh ... its much of a muchness man... its a $12 strap and not a picasso and you got to figure youll never gain over 700lbs that would require letting it out that much again. Besides no one will ever notice it unless you do it to the wrong end. Those straps are made for giants!

my lazyness surpases these sugestions... i folded a part at the end and stapled it with heavy duty staples. it's ugly as hell, but it was easier to do then sew

Too long? naa....guitars look sweet when played really low, like Hetfield style although it sucks because stuff is harder to play when the guitar is that low it seems....
