Danaelectro Nifty Fifty solid state amp

I have a Danelectro Nifty Fifty 15 watt solid state amp that I really like the tone and think it's quite amazing for a little practice amp. It recently developed a crackle sound which I thought was the speaker so I replaced the speaker. But it still has the crackle sound. Does anybody have any ideas how I can salvage this tiny yet amazing amp? I've heard it's very expensive to have it repaired so if there's anything I could do myself I am pretty handy with a soldering iron. Thanks!

Re: Danaelectro Nifty Fifty solid state amp

Before doing anything too drastic, you might just check/clean your input jack (plus any connectors) and go around touching up solder joints carefully. Might just be a dirty connection or cold solder joint. Cold solder joints tend to occur where a larger pin or component leg is soldered, as opposed to smaller components. If it has surface mount components be careful not to overheat any part of the board.

Good luck!
