Danelectro Sitar Swami - ...don't bother!

I remember a post on here about this pedal a couple of months back. *Some of us got very excited about it. *Well here's my review...

After months on getting excited about a sitar simulator, I finally received one for a Christmas gift. *WHAT A JIP! *This sucker sounds NOTHING like a sitar. *Not even close! *It nothing more than an octave pedal (that doesn't track well) *combined w/ a flanger & slight overdrive. *It sounds absolutely awful! *For $129, this pedal should be nominated for "the worst effects pedal of the year"! *So anyway, this will prompty go back to GC on the 26th & I'll swap it out for a Dunlop Rotovibe instead.

you can get pretty close to that ftlog electric sitar by just picking really close to your fretting hand. i personally wouldn't have any other use for it!

Thanks for the warning. Actually, a while back, someone posted a link of a couple of soundbite samples....it was pretty bad. One quote I remember was "that was supposed to sell it?" LOL.
