Differences between the Breed and Air Zone

I plan on getting an American Deluxe Strat and I need a good humbucker to put in the bridge. I need a thick pickup, but I've heard horror stories about the Tone Zone...it just doesn't sound right to me. The "Tone Zone" in my mind is synonymous with "mud," even though I've never tried one.
But both the Air Zone and Breed interest me. I've heard a ton of great things about the Breed, and very little about the Air Zone, but my gut feeling keeps kicking me towards the AZ. Anyone had experience with the AZ, or both the AZ and Breed, and could compare? Also, any information about the Tone Zone would be nice, but I'm pretty sure I'm staying away from it. Medium power pickups are good for me...I like the clarity. And yes, I know, the Breed is a high power, but still, I've heard that the clarity is that of a medium power. Thanks!

Re: Differences between the Breed and Air Zone

The ToneZone sounds great in a mahogany body but I agree would not be good in a strat. I have the Breed in a basswood RG and it screams. I give it a thumbs up for metal sounds and it still works nicely in the #2 switch position for clean too. I haven't used the AirZone but go to the dimarzio website and look for the tone chart and compare that, the Breed and the Evolution(another dandy powerhouse). The AirNorton in the neck is sweet BTW.
