Digitech wh-1: signal weakens when switched on....

To those who have a wh-1...the original, does your guitar signal weaken a little when it is switched on?? Mine does this just enough to notice......when i turn it off, the tone is more puchier/beefier, and more distorted(when the ds-1 is on of course). When i switch it on.....the tone gets weaker a little and some of the high end goes away.
I'm just trying to find out if this is a problem with all wh-1's......or what if there is anything that can be done to make it so that the wh-1 doesn't suck the tone out of the original signal.

Does anyone know if Robert keeley can soup up a wh-1 and make it so that there is no signal loss when it's switched on?

No. Mine does that when switched off. I have run it on a true bypass loop.

I'm Starting to look at those units. It might be towards Christmas, but those units are in bad need of some true-bypass. I will look at them as soon as time permits!
Thanks!

How about a completely new Keeley version?

The WH1 was never a Digitech design, they bought the rights to use the circuit. That's why they can't make a reissue like the original
