Dumb Question...

I want to get a voice microphone. Past getting the mic, a cord, and a stand, what do I need? I need something to amplify it, don't I?

Re: Dumb Question...

Yes,

The simplist thing to do would be to get a hi to low z converter, radio shack carries them. Its basically an XLR (microphone cable input) to 1/4" ( an instrument jack). With this adapter you can plug the microphone into your guitar amp...not the best way to go, but one of the cheapest......Otherwise your looking at various expenditures for PA systems, all in ones, powered mixers, mixers and power amps, speakers, etc....If you want something like that go to one of the many on line music stores and do a search....good luck...Tobe

yep what he said. Certain mics are better for voice aplications compared to others that are desinged for like instruments, so it is something to check but most mics work well either way .
