ear piece

I was just watching a dream theater concert and they where all wearing an ear piece. What do they actually use those for? Something I never thought about but would like to know.

Re: ear piece

In ear monitors- onstage foldback that actually works! Drummer may also be cueing samples via earphones.

Shure make them - check out their website

Re: ear piece

I've used these before and they are really awesome - you can set up a great mix right in your ears - I blast my guitar and cut out most of the vocals, you almost feel that you are at home practicing with the isolation you get from these. Expensive though $250 a pop and they don't last long.

Re: ear piece

hehe, just kidding

They actually sound really useful because a lot of the time you can be playing somewhere and if you're a supporting band, the sound guys sometimes don't give a crap about what you can and can't hear.
