EQ, Changing Pickups Tone

hi!

so i have an idea and want to know will it work or no?

so here is the idea: i want to plug my guitar directly to EQ and then into fx chain (or amp, or multifx...). what i want to do with EQ? i want to change my pickups tone with that and nothing else. so i have one axe with 9 presets in my EQ (=with 9 pickups! ) lets take Hi-end like Boss Dual Peadal Advanced EQ with preests. expl: i'm playing jazz - i've killed hi's and boosted lows, so press pedal and turn on preset no.2 whre i kill lows and boost hi's, so here is my question? will i get strat like tone in this case?

i just whant to know if it's possible to get differet pu's tones from one pu and good EQ?

Re: EQ, Changing Pickups Tone

eq lets you subtract and boost across certain defined frequency ranges...its not going to turn an Air norton into a PAF pro or a pearly gates... sorry

of course it is...
a highly flexible sound chain, in fact, should have equalization both before and after the gain stage, and finally be amplified (some suggest eq even after the power stage)
if you want to go deeper in this matter, have a read to this:

Re: EQ, Changing Pickups Tone

that just proves my point... eq is very useful for tweaking sounds... but will not make a guitar with only a bridge evo pickup into a holow body jazz guitar.. make it sound like a neck pickup... or an acoustic.. as those sound clips would have you believe... i htink what you are looking for doesnt exist... the closest thing to what you want is rolands COSM.. like a VG-88... that will let you simulate lots of guitars and amps through one hex pickup.
