Re: floyd rose

Why not the C-1 FR? It's nearly the same, plus it already comes with an OFR. You can always swap out the pickups.

Re: floyd rose

With the amount of routing work that would need to be done, I would advise getting one with the Floyd stock. Not worth doing the mods.

Yeah, along with the costs, you'd be better off with an ESP M-II (which are sweet guitars IMHO). Besides, the FR has a nicer inlay than the Classic's (but no maple top though).

Re: floyd rose

i am not sure i get exactly what your saying but puting on a floyd aint cheap. at minimum i'd guess 250 to rout and another at least a 100 for a good floyd . The schecter c1 classic is around 600. Thats around a 1,000 $ . Why not just save your money and buy somthing that already has a floyd or cool inlays or whatever . You could buy a used jem for 1200 or 1300, or for that matter any other really really nice high quality guitar.

I dont see what your getting at , sure it may look cool but the guitar is still MIK and doesn't have the same craftmenship or quality that you'd get with a guitar that already has what your looking for .

Re: floyd rose

agreed. for all that cash, you could have something really nice, new or used, and not worry about something going wrong with the floyd

It's a bit overdone for my taste. IMHO if it didn't have side dots I'd be lost on the fretboard.

I agree save up a bit more and you can land yourself a nice 3120 for less than $1000.

I dont like ibanez, the necks are to thick for me.

Re: floyd rose

Yeah, those Ibanez necks think too much, they make me feel dumb.

I agree with the above guys, putting a floyd on a non floyd guitar is going to be costly and time consuming. To have it done well you would need to got a luthier, have them work on it, which will cost you money. And the actual brige is not cheap. If you have the money for it, then sure do it, but remember that for what it end up costing, you could have probably gotten a better guitar with a factory floyd. It seems like the only reason why you want to do it is for the sake of modding the guitar, and it's not worth it IMO. And not everyone says it's amazing, pretty much everyone in this thread says it's not. I played a few schecters and wasn't that impressed, although the semi-hollow C1's seem cool.

What about getting the C1-FR and having an inlay done on it? Then you can have something really personal on a guitar.

Re: floyd rose

I think he meant Ibanez necks are too thick. metalguitarst, I don't think any neck thinner than a Wizard's can support a trussrod.
