Re: G.A.S. attacks have been intense lately...

So anyone recall my motto?
Yeah, better to ask for forgiveness than permission...
Ughhh.

I'm dreading asking forgiveness for this one, but this is one of my crown jewel to die for(and I might) acquisitions...

So I guess instead of talking about it...

I do have a way to purge the CC quickly and without much drama, (if you guys wanna help and buy my Chris woods body, that too would help defray the cost )
AHEM

Gear seems like a sweet, but ultimately painful guitar to play.

You can't imagine how nicely this thing plays...

Theres butter and then there is this thing...
Butter takes a back seat.

UNBELIEVABLE.

my 4 YO saw it and flipped out, "WHEN did you get THAT?!"
"How much did you pay?"
"Mommy did you see Daddy's new Ibanez?"

ME: "what are you talking about?!"

"Mommy, wanna see it?"

Me: "Whooooa, bed time, you must be tired"

Wife eying me suspiciously...

I downplayed it...for now...

I'm screwed, you know that right?

...and not in a good way...

*Cringing*

Re: G.A.S. attacks have been intense lately...

SO, needless to say, the Discover bill came...

I'm in the stage where it was a MUST buy situation, like when she got those shoes, uhhh...and...uh...hmm, not buying that one...ok...
Umm, deal of a lifetime..uhh...
No, huh?
I'll have it paid off before the interest posts?
ahh, she's looking at me again...
Ohh, that's a bad look.
Ummm...

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one... Oh, you want the discover card? Umm, Ok...Uhh...

Hmm.. I don't remember it looking like confetti before...

She is not happy...

Perhaps I need to rethink my strategy here...

The best strategy is to sell something and then buy something slightly more expensive. That way over the years you can build up some amazing purchasing power.

Re: G.A.S. attacks have been intense lately...

That is typically what I've been dong, but this time, it was one of those things that doesn't come along too often, and I figured the price was right. I can pay it off in time, but the wife caught it before the bill was paid... *shrugs*
I'd probably do it again, but perhaps a bit more begging and pleading?

Re: G.A.S. attacks have been intense lately...

Dude,

Never back down, never apologise. My wife and I agreed a 10 guitar limit as far as purchases goes. Once I buy my 11th guitar, then I sell another. No one has said a word about "custom" guitars though. I am now standing at 14 (or 15, I don't know actually) and am afraid to go into the work shop and actually count the bits. I am having 2 finished at the guitar shop as we speak. To be honest I have had to start lending people guitars, and taking apart others so no-one notices.

I have been realy enjoying this thread, but I have to say that I spat out the beer I was drinking when I saw the guitar you bought. As a public service this thread should be stickied for other members to show their wives/gf's/parents so that there is always someone doing it to a greater extreme, and God bless them for it!

Yeah, I'm thinking the wife isn't wishing blessings, per se' for me.
I'm thinking she'd like to see the wrath manifest in some smiting that would allow the insurance policy to pay off in full... On public transportation would be better since it pays triple...
