good PA suggestions?

ok i want to buy a PA for when i start my band, im looking for any suggestions as far as what would be good to get started and how many watts i should look for as far as power goes. since it is a starting band i want something that will get the job done but also give some nice quality.

thanks

any more info that i should know about selecting PA's is greatly appreciated (good beginner to intermediate setup). prices would also be well appreciated.

You need to know and tell us more. What's going thru the PA? Just vocals? Vox & guitars? Everything? What's the biggest venue you're likely to play?

A basic board like a 16 channel Mackie with a couple hundred watt power amp and pair of speakers will run a couple thousand. Monitors & amp (or in-ears) maybe another grand. From there, you can add a crossover, subs, and sub amp for another grand if you need it. These are basic pieces. If you want top line EV, JBL, or similar, you could double that or more (WAY more)...
