High Gain Distortion Pedal Advice Needed!

I am looking for a relatively small high gain distortion pedal.

Gear I'm using:
Amps:
-Mesa Maverick combo
-Mesa DC-5 combo
Guitars:
-JS1000BP
-540R w/JS1000 neck
-American Deluxe Strat w/Mark Knopfler pickups
Pedals:
-Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah
-Planet Waves Tuner pedal
-Xotic AC Booster
-TC Corona Chorus pedal
-TC Flashback Delay pedal
-Boss GE-7 EQ pedal w/Sniper mods
-Rocktron Patchmate Floor

My band plays all original music ranging in styles from Lounge/Jazz to Frank Zappa to Rush to Incubus, etc.
Fusion Bass/Keyboard Player
80's style Drummer (Rush, Police, U2, etc.)
Classic Rock & 80's style Singer (Heart, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc.)
and me, Recovering Metalhead/Hardcore Punk Guitar player (Black Sabbath, DRI, Agnostic Front, early Anthrax, early Maiden, etc.)

I am looking for:
Lots of crunch
Lots of sustain
LOW NOISE
Not overly trebly, but with great harmonics
Lots of bass, but not muddy
Must have a small footprint to save pedal board space!
Must respond to subtle nuances

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live on a small (but beautiful) island and have no where to try any decent gear.

MI Effects Crunch Box. Awesome High gain Marshall in a box. Big, heavy, fat, sustaining distortion.

boss Power Stack. I know, boss??? but it is great, anything from Zepplin to Slayer.. and the 80's rock tones are to die for.

Re: High Gain Distortion Pedal Advice Needed!

I had a SLOStortion for a while, but it sounded very similar to the amp I was using at the time.
A friend of mine has a Pinacle that he really likes.

Years ago, I had a Crunch Box. Maybe I had a bad one or an older revision. It had nowhere near the gain of the ones on YouTube and had almost no sustain.

Keep them coming!
I did borrow a BSIAB2 from a friend. I'll try it out this afternoon!

Don't like any higain pedal I heard/played, that rectifier wampler pedal sounds like a noise
Why a higain pedal as you have a dc5?
I had one for about 12 years, awesome tones from clean to metal.

You just described a hi quality hi gain amp like rectifier as an example, any cheap 60-500 dollars pedal would never deliver these features.

Not sure if I know a higher gain pedal. There are some great demos if it out there.

AMT California sound is an amazing pedal...sounds great through any amp at any volume...see review in the reviews section. I also have a Wampler Pinnacle II that is very nice pedal too. Keeley DS-1 sounds fantastic through a cranked amp but the AMT sounds good through anything and it has lots of gain on tap

My advice is the Wampler triple Wreck.
- The bass is awesome like in no other pedal (chump chump chump)
- Huge distortion
- Low noise
- Great Harmonix
- Great crunch
- Awesome at low volume and high volume
- Responsive.

On the clean channel: Awesome for a pedal.

Pushing the distortion channel: One of the best mix I have ever heard. The pedal add what the amp lacks. I use it a lot with my marshalls, take advantage of a tube distortion but pushed with this pedal. The tone
is simple awesome.

For me, is one of the best pedals out there, and that's why I recomend it with my eyes closed, and that's why I would have to get another one if somebody stole it from me.

cheers

And that's why recomendations about audio are useless, nobody have the same ears, you have to try for yourself.
We don't speak about audio, we hear it

That's right! Nobody has the same ears... take you for example, you recomend modeling crap and make great things in the studio to fool people with the real tone of the gear... and now your saying you use pedals when you always show us your multieffects... right huh? ahahah

So, for me, your opinions are like poop.

Lol you must be high.
First I don't fool anyone, I record whatever I'm reviewing and nothing more.
Where the hell did I say I'm using pedals?
And saying my opinions are poop show me your brain is poop cause instead of learning something with somebody much more experienced than you, you just came and was rude OUT OF NOTHING and for free.
I was just showing for every gear out there, there are people who love it, hate it and don't care.
Go back to your pyramids and your lack of knowledgement.

Re: High Gain Distortion Pedal Advice Needed!

The answers you give to everything are getting somewhat old.

Not everyone can try everything at any point in time for various reason. That's why we come here and ask about likes and dislikes and experiences. And based on opinions from people whom we have gotten to know and maybe trust we than either buy or not.

Taking you analogy 80% of the questions asked here than are pointless and can be answered with "go try for yourself , our ears are different"

Questions like, how is this pickup, or this amp or do you like basswood and whatnot could all be answered with " try it yourself , our ears are different"

And than all we had left is your youtube links of things you think are funny.
