Re: How much money have you spent?

Reading this makes me feel good. My total is something like hmm... lets see... price, tax, shipping...

RG760 $400 + $70 Pickup
RG570 $100 + $70 new pickups
RG670 $250 + $35 new pickup
Strat $100 + $50 new tuners etc
GSR bass $200
Two original wizard necks $130
Mesa .22+ $400
POD 2.0 $230
Floorboard $160
Boss DD-20 $190
Boss DC-3 $100
Cables $30
Two beater parts guitars that are still in Japan: $120

Total: $2635 over ~3 years

Ack! I've rounded up here, so its somewhat overstated, but its a lot more than I thought.

But when you get frustrated that you're playing isn't better, what's the best medicine besides some GAS?

Well, I rather not get robbed, some of my stuff is irreplaceable, but going out shopping with £12k to spend on new shiny toys would be fun!

Re: How much money have you spent?

My current GAS budget stands at around £12.50 which is enough for two packs of 10's . With a baby due in Nov it's unlikley to change much either. So you can imagine, being guitar enthusiasts why I treasure my Jem777DY so much ......... I only wish my wife wouldn't look at me like I'm nuts when I asked if I could keep it next to our bed.......

Re: How much money have you spent?

I cant really work it out for every piece of gear I have ever had, that would just take too damn long. Not only that, but most of the gear I get I sell-on at some point anyway. And almost 100% of the time I make my money back or make a profit. But here is my current gear setup cost list:-

Ibanez RG421 - £200
Ibanez RG760 - £250
Ibanez PGM301 (thats kinda on its way) - £650
Custom Parts Stratocaster (for slide work and "Yngwie moments") - £100
Marshall 1922 2x12 Cab - £180
Behringer V-Ampire Head - £130
Behringer V-Amp 2 - £100

I have a very low guitar count at the moment. But what with bills and my car costing me money lately, I have had to let a few go But hopefully by Xmas I will have another 2 or 3 in the arsenal. I want a new amp head too, which will probably be a Laney GH100L.

Re: How much money have you spent?

I didn't ever want to haev to do this but you have forced me.

Jem 77FP £850
Custom Strat £850
Ibanez dt 350 £160 (Bargain)
Fender Music Master £120 (I have bought and sold this one a few times, but that was the last amount I paid)
Squire Bullet £40 or £25 I can't remember (in bits now, was supposed t be the parts of the custom strat, but things change).
Fender acoustic £50
ZW Les Paul (custom copy) £300 (serious bargain)
Charvel 550xl £250
Custom Jem £900 (this is about what I have spent, or am already commited to spending with dealers, and finishing guy. It includes buying a whole other guitar for bits. I wont say anything else as I want to unveil it in a couple of months when it is ready)

Kustom 10watt £50
Torque 50w combo £140 (again I have traded this back and forth with a buddy, but I think that was the original cost, and yes it was a lot of money, and yes I was young and stupid )
Peavey Mace, and laney 4x10 £180 (actually came with a Mrshall 2x10, THAT I SWAPPED, please read above statement)
Marshall JMP-1 £350 (+£80 for the switch)
Behringer Composer £200
Behringer Virtualizer £80
Rack £80
Rocktron All Access foot controller £50 (this makes up for all the other stupid purchases)

Boss hi-band flanger £40
Marshall Chorus £40
Cry Baby £80
Korg AX10G £90

I just added this up at £4900. Stick on the extra pickup I put into my Charvel last month, and that is £5000! That doesn't include straps, leads, picks, tuners, or anythign else; and it doesn't include something like 15 setups a year.

Two things are now very clear:

1. No wonder my credit card/overdraft are so obscenely high.

2. No wonder the guys in my local guitar shop all, a) know me by name, b) F**cking love me. And do you know what; I would'nt have it any other way
